These are my confessions V9

Link up with Leigh's confession's post........

I confess……that I really don’t have anything too exciting to say this week. The weather has been so gloomy and rainy I just want to stay under the covers at home. It has definitely influenced my mood (I might be a little cranky).

However I saw this on my way into work this morning

And the view from my office looks like this right now……

So I am hoping we get some sun.

Friday Favourites

A few things from the last week that made me smile

1. First beer of the Stampede season at a Stampede kick off party. I am not usually a beer drinker but for some reason during Stampede it is my drink of choice.
2.Yummy Nutella Latte from Deville
3. Geese on the pathway during a bike ride with the girls on Thursday night
4. Pre-dinner bubbly!

Have a great weekend everyone! We are having dinner with friends tonight at Alloy then fingers crossed the rain stays away so we can do some things in the yard. I am also thinking some baking might be in order.

Annoyances

The other day, when I was feeling particularly irritated with just about everyone around me, I came across a post on one of my favourite blogs “A Cup of Jo” about annoyances.  Specifically, annoyances about your significant other.  The post was interesting and made me think – not just about what annoys me about my significant other, but even other people in my life: co-workers, friends, family.

She said that everyone in your life will have something about them that annoys you but that people tend to focus on these negative attributes and forget about the good things…. And you know what? I agree! I know I am definitely guilty of this.

The article made me stop and think that none of these annoyances are really that important. Everyone has their quirks, but for every irritating trait, there is an equally amazing thing. I find that the good is easier to see in the people closest to me.  The husband that never shuts the dresser drawers or puts the lid on anything is also the same person who always washes my car for me. The friend that always changes plans at the last minute is the one who is always there when I need her. Where I struggle are the people I don’t know very well. The co-worker that talks loudly to herself all day long – when I stop and think about it, she is also someone who is always willing to help when needed.

I am sure my quirks are just as annoying as the one’s I see in other people (I can be a little bossy,  I have a ridiculous amount of beauty/hair products, I get upset when thing don’t go exactly how I planned and I have a love for cheesy shows on TV). Once I realized this then I can appreciate the people around me more. I can stop focusing on the negative and see the good.

What annoys you about the people close to you? On the flip side what’s great about those same people?

What do you think annoys people about you?

These are my confessions V8

Link up with Leigh's confession's post........

I confess..... we have so much wine at home (which isn't a bad thing) from all of the wineries we have visited. However I don't drink any of it because I want to save it! Most of the bottles we have you can't buy in the stores here and can only get it directly from the wineries. So I don't want to actually drink the bottles because once I do they are gone! So silly I know!! My friends are always giving me a hard time about "hoarding" my wine.

When I want to drink a bottle of wine (which is fairly frequently) I just go buy a bottle from the store.

This is the rack in the basement. Plus we have a wine fridge upstairs that's full (another 24 bottles) and another small rack as well.

We really need to start drinking them......

These are my confessions V7

Link up with Leigh's confession's post........

I confess...... I am terrible at doing anything out of the ordinary with my hair. I basically have two looks:

Straight

or ponytail

That IT! I got nothing else. If you see me with my hair done any other way it's only because I have bribed one of my friends (usually with the promise of wine) to do it for me. On Halloween last year we went to an 80's party and I had to sweet talk Mr. H into crimping most of my hair for me (the back-combed bangs however I still had the ability to do).

I envy all the girls that have the ability to do their hair in different ways or see a picture and be able to recreate it! Heck I would be happy being able to curl my hair and have it turn out.

I confess........ I absolutely love the new Justin Bieber song Boyfriend (go ahead and laugh it's okay). Don't get me wrong - overall I don't really like him and I don't really understand the whole craze over him but there is something about this song.....

Weekend Shenanigans

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

My husband-free weekend was filled with pink hair, stagettes, limos, a few too many Burt Reynolds shooters, late night McDonald's (don't judge), bridal showers, cupcakes and gardening…. Wait one of those things doesn’t really seem to belong……

Friday I had a stagette to go to that had a "pink" theme. I went to see my hairdresser/friend and came home with this. A little out of my normal look but with the promise that it would wash out the next day I went for it.

The bridal party came up with a great outfit for the bride to be.

The girls had a hummer limo come pick us all up and we went for supper and then out to a couple bars (this is where the too many Burt Reynolds shooters may have come into play....... maybe it's the stash?).

We topped the everything off with some late night McDonald's.  I actually don't remember the last time I ate there.

Saturday I got up to go to the bridal shower (I really wanted to stay in bed but the promise of cupcakes got me up). There was SO much amazing food with the best part being Crave cupcakes.

Once the shower was done I promptly went home and lay on the couch for the remainder of the day/night. Ocean’s Eleven was on TV and how can you not feel better after watching a little Brad and George?

Sunday my husband came from quadding and things were much more low key. We went and got the rest of the flowers so I could finish planting everything. Made Chocolate No-Bake Energy Bites (I found the recipe here) and  beer can chicken for supper (I personally don't think the pictures of either item is very appealing however they were both yummy!).

Overall it was an amazing weekend.
