These are my Confessions V2

I thought I would link up with Leigh's confession's post........

Here is my confession for the week...

I confess ……….when my husband isn’t home I rarely cook. My preferred supper is crackers, cheese and cucumber slices or toasted tomato and cheese sandwiches.  And somehow supper includes includes glass of wine. As he is out of town this week you can all guess what I have been eating. It is not that I CAN’T cook I just hate doing it just for me.

Spring is the best excuse for color. Flowers are in bloom and it is the perfect time to breakout of those dark winter blacks and grays.  And pink is one of spring’s color trends of 2012. From handbags and shoes, to day dresses, pants, and evening gowns.

I never used to be a huge fan of pink but it has grown on me over the years.  I still only like it in moderation but here are some of my favorite “pink” things for spring.

I have to confess that I already own this dress. It is a brighter pink than the picture and I love it! It will be perfect to wear to a friends wedding this summer.

pink pants

I am not sure how I feel about the pink skinny's.  I love this look though.

Purse from Kate Spade.  I think it's very "spring like"

TOMS ballet flats.  I think these would be great with a pair of jeans.

What do think? Love pink? Hate it?

These are my confessions V1

I thought I would link up with Leigh's confession's post........

Here is my confession for the week

I confess ……… that once I decide a food is my current favourite I want to eat it all the time.  My current obsessions are black beans, avocados and pickles (not store bought though! They must be my Mom’s or Grandma’s homemade ones).  Since I do all the meal planning I try and incorporate these items as MUCH as possible into our weekly meals.  Mr. H usually just goes along with it although I think it drives him crazy since they are not necessarily HIS favourite foods. Ha ha

I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend! I had to work both Friday and Monday (and a bit of Saturday) but had a great weekend anyway!

Friday night we didn't do very much since I knew I had to go into work on Saturday.

Saturday night we went over to a friend's house for a birthday party and didn't get home until almost 3am!! I haven't been out that late in ages.  Needless to say when we got up Sunday morning to do our Insanity workout I was feeling the late night. I also learned that Insanity is NOT fun after you have had a few to many glasses of red wine! OUCH!

Sunday we made an Easter dinner for the two of us. ... turkey, potatoes, caramelized brussel sprouts (a first for me), bacon wrapped green beans and oatmeal stuffing. I also made a carrot cake for dessert.

The Easter bunny also paid a visit to our house............. gotta love that guy! I got some tea (not in the picture) and some Bernard Callebaut chocolates

Easter Weekend

Happy Easter Weekend!

Since it is quarter end at work and I am working Friday and part of Saturday we can't go anywhere this weekend.  It always makes me sad when I can't go home and see my family on the holidays and neither my husband or myself has any family in the city.  But to make up for it we are going to make our own Easter dinner on Sunday and celebrate anyway.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and that the Easter bunny comes to visit.

AND of course brings LOTS of chocolate......

Week/weekend in review

I was off work last week for a much needed "stay-cation" and LOVED every moment of it. I got so much done and caught up on some things around this house.  In addition to a long list of errands (including a massage and acupuncture appointment) I managed to fit in some fun time too!

I had coffee with Amy from Tickled Pink Photography and her sweet little girl Alice.  We had fun catching up, drinking Starbucks and wandering around Chapters.  Amy and I used to work together and I don't get to see her nearly enough.

I made a productive trip to Winners and besides the two pairs of shoes for my husband I found (there is something wrong with the fact I didn't find anything for myself!!) I bought these great planters for our deck! The small ones were $5.99 and the big ones were $9.99.

I also found this cute lantern.  It's solar powered and matches the planters.

Friday night I went to the Flames game with one my best friends. Although the Flames lost we had a great time.

Saturday night I went to a Scentsy party.  I already had a warmer from there but got a few more "smells" anyway.  I like going to these parties more for the socializing then anything! Ha ha

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!!
